Small But Mighty, Waterfall

I feel like photographing a waterfall is a right of passage for a photographer. It has been on my bucket list for a long time, but the reality of lugging in tons of gear and having two little ones by my side is a logistical nightmare. I just returned from a week’s vacation and stayed in a cottage on Calabogie Lake in Ontario, just one hour outside of Ottawa. I was pleasantly surprised to find this small but mighty waterfall right behind our cottage, and there were plenty of extra eyes to watch the children, I could not pass up the opportunity.

If you can imagine, I had my pants rolled up to my knees, a pair of water-friendly flip flops, and my camera secured on a sturdy tripod. Not forgetting the steep descent with equipment strapped to my back. These shots are never easy, that is why they are so rewarding! If you have any questions about how I made the shot feel free to contact me.

Happy Summer Everyone,
